Frontend Engineer (Intern)
About the Role
We’re looking for a Frontend Engineering Intern who wants to build real user-facing products—not just implement designs.
You’ll work on the customer-facing console for speech intelligence, including audio setup, transcript review, analytics, QA tooling, and admin controls. This is a fast-moving environment where the product evolves weekly and ambiguity is part of the job.
You’ll collaborate closely with founders, product, and backend teams to design and ship features that directly impact user experience. Your work will go live quickly and be used by real customers.
If you enjoy thinking deeply about UX, building polished interfaces, and improving workflows—not just components—this role will push you to grow fast.
What You Will Do
Build and iterate on the customer-facing console (audio setup, transcripts, analytics, QA tools, admin controls)
Integrate frontend with backend APIs and handle edge cases gracefully
Implement data visualisations for complex metrics
Ensure performance, responsiveness, and accessibility across devices
Write clean, maintainable React/TypeScript code
Collaborate with product, design, and backend to ship features end-to-end
Add and maintain E2E tests for critical user journeys (Playwright or Cypress)
Communicate clearly about tradeoffs, UX decisions, and risks
What We’re Looking For
Strong fundamentals in React, TypeScript, or a similar modern frontend stack
Comfort working with APIs and handling loading, error, and empty states
Basic understanding of performance optimisation for web apps
Familiarity with authentication flows and role-based UI patterns
Interest in E2E testing and frontend quality practices
Ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
Founding Mindset
You think in terms of user outcomes, not UI tickets
You ask “why does this matter for the user?” before building
You take ownership of the overall product experience
You balance speed with long-term maintainability
You proactively identify and fix UX issues
Bonus
Experience building internal tools or admin dashboards
Exposure to design systems or component libraries
Experience with data visualisation tools
Deployed a frontend project end-to-end before
What Success Looks Like
Within 4–6 weeks, you should be able to:
Own a part of the product (e.g., analytics or transcript review) independently
Ship UX improvements with measurable impact
Identify and fix confusing flows or edge cases proactively
Improve perceived performance and usability
Contribute meaningfully to frontend architecture and product velocity
What You’ll Get
Hands-on experience building real B2B product interfaces
Direct collaboration with founders and senior engineers
Ownership of production features used by real customers
A strong portfolio of shipped frontend work
A pathway into frontend or product engineering roles
Who This Is Not For
If you only want to follow pixel-perfect specs with no ambiguity
If you avoid discussing tradeoffs with product or users
If you prefer slow, design-heavy environments
If you’re looking for a low-pressure, purely learning-focused internship
Who Will Thrive Here
Builders who care deeply about user experience
Engineers who think in flows, not just screens
Calm debuggers of tricky frontend and state issues
High-agency individuals who take initiative and ownership
People who enjoy moving fast and shipping to production
