Solutions Engineer / Forward Deployed Engineer (Intern)
About the Role
We’re looking for an Engineering Intern who wants to build real systems, not sit on the sidelines.
You’ll operate across the full stack of company-building. That means debugging messy, real-world integrations, working close to users, and seeing firsthand how technical decisions compound into product outcomes, customer value, and business growth.
You’ll work directly with the founding team to ship production systems, integrate with real customers, and scale AI infrastructure already operating in the wild. Your work will not sit in a sandbox. It will go live, break under real conditions, get fixed, and continuously improve how businesses operate.
If you’re someone who learns fast, enjoys solving ambiguous problems, and wants to see your work have immediate impact, you’ll fit right in.
What You Will Do
Assist in deploying Valsea’s platform and integrating our systems with pilot customers.
Listen to technical challenges from the field and help the product team turn them into better features.
Identify and fix integration errors to ensure system stability and a smooth user experience.
Develop automation scripts and small internal tools to help the team move faster.
Keep clear records of deployments and technical setups to help us scale our processes.
What We’re Looking For
Solid grasp of Python (or a similar backend stack) and an understanding of how APIs work.
Basic exposure to AWS/GCP or Docker is a plus, but a willingness to learn is more important.
Ability to explain what you’re working on and aren't afraid to ask questions when you're stuck.
A natural interest in digging into a problem until you find the root cause.
Comfort in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.
Founding Mindset
You think in terms of outcomes, not tasks
You ask “why does this matter?” before building
You act like the company’s success is your responsibility
You prioritise long-term robustness over short-term hacks when appropriate
You don’t wait to be told what to fix
Bonus
Experience working on production systems
Experience with AI/ML systems
Experience with cloud infrastructure or GPUs
Built and deployed something end-to-end before
What Success Looks Like
Within 4–6 weeks, you should be able to:
Own a subsystem independently
Ship improvements without supervision
Anticipate failure points before they break
Increase system stability, speed, or clarity
Contribute meaningfully to core product velocity
What You’ll Get
Direct exposure to building a category-defining AI company from the ground up
Real ownership over production systems, not side projects
Mentorship through working alongside operators, not structured training programs
A fast, high-trust environment where your output matters
What We’re Looking For
Strong fundamentals in Python or a similar backend language
Solid understanding of APIs, data flow, and system design basics
Ability to learn quickly and operate in ambiguity without hand-holding
High ownership mindset: you take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks
Clear thinking and communication when debugging or explaining problems
Bonus: exposure to cloud (AWS/GCP), Docker, or production deployments
Who This Is Not For
If you’re looking for a low-pressure, resume-padding internship
If you prefer structured tasks over open-ended problem solving
If you’re not comfortable shipping imperfect systems and iterating fast
